Dienten am HochkönigDienten am Hochkönig, together with the picturesque villages of Maria Alm and Mühlbach, forms part of the holiday region of Hochkönig. As the name suggests, Dienten is situated at the foot of the Hochkönig Mountain. The charming, idyllic and hospitable little village lies at 1071m above sea level, in the region of Salzburgerland. Dienten sits within the centre of the Hochkönig ski area, regarded as one of the most beautiful Alpine regions.
With only 800 inhabitants, Dienten at Hochkönig is a true family village. This small, enchanting village has a range of facilities and amenities which are easily reached on foot. Dienten is particularly attractive for families with children wishing to enjoy the peace and serenity of the area. There is also plenty of choice for those wanting a good night out. Dienten has a range of restaurants (traditional Austria cuisine, pizzeria, hotel restaurants, etc.), bars and cafés offering delicious food and drink. There is a well-stocked supermarket, bakery, bank and a couple of sports shops. EntertainmentThe beauty of a staying in a Chalet Apartment is that you have the freedom to do what you want, when you want. Watch out for the weekly programme during the high season where there is usually a weekly ski show and Austrian bands playing in selected restaurants.

Getting to the ResortIt is extremely easy getting to the resort. The closest airport is Salzburg (c. 1 hour car journey - c. 45 miles). Taxi for 4 -6 persons costs c. €130 - €160.00. (Dienten Company - Taxi Buergler - worth contacting). Innsbruch airport is c. 2 hours drive and Münich is c. 2.5 hours. Leaving the motorway at Bischofshofen, the journey up the mountain is c.25 minutes. The roads in the area are extremely well cared for, especially in winter.
